Trusting the process and getting past plateaus

Have you had ever encountered a lick, song, or chord that you just couldn't play? You practice it for hours and nothing sticks. And on top of that, you have limited practice time and you feel like you've wasted the past week working on something way out of your reach.

I have some great news! You can play anything. I don't mean that in the “you can do anything if you put your mind to it” cliche. I mean that if you have the persistence and discipline to play something out of your comfort zone until it's just a tiny bit easier to play, your playing will continue to improve.

There is no “end.” You won't get to a point where you're satisfied enough to stop practicing, so you might as well enjoy where you're at.

Trusting the process and getting past plateaus

Don't expect huge improvements to happen overnight. Learning and improving is a gradual process that requires constant attention and willingness to challenge oneself.

If you can make practice fun, playing will be even more exhilarating.

What are you going to challenge yourself with today? Leave it in the comments!
