The melody for Deck the Halls is a blast to play on Clawhammer banjo, especially when paired with the Tunefox backing track band. The band is moving double time when compared to the melody. Even at slower speeds this song will sound great. The backing track will make it feel much more lively. Hopefully, this will make slow practice much more enjoyable. It's important to go slow and strive for accuracy, then evenness of timing, when learning something new. Speed should be the last thing you aim for.
Strike all of the notes with your index or middle finger of your plucking hand. Use whichever you prefer. Suggested fingerings for the fret hand are listed above the banjo tablature.
