Here is the A minor blues scale for guitar in 5th position. Follow the suggested fingerings in the guitar tablature. Your 1st finger will get notes on the 5th fret, 2nd finger will get notes on the 6th fret, 3rd finger will play notes on the 7th fret, and pinky will play notes on the 8th fret. This is a basic "position playing" rule we use on the guitar to give a finger per fret in a 4 fret span. Since your first finger is playing 5th fret notes, this is known as 5th position. This rule will be broken, but a good foundation should be built before you start "breaking" all the rules.
Aim for long sustained notes. Leave fret hand fingers down as long as possible. A good beginning challenge is to play each note in the scale and let it sustain as long as possible. After you are able to make clear notes for each one in the scale, try to play in time with the player.
