This is a beautiful hymn. Because the melody has so many long notes, it lends itself really well to cross-picking in those spaces. If you've never cross-picked before this is a great song to start with. The tempo is slow, and there is very little position shifting. Remember, even though the song is slow, you can still use the tempo slider to slow it down even more for practice purposes.
