Leaving on a Jetplane - Crosspicking

Back
  • Crosspicking
  • Key   G
  • Tempo   60 bpm
  • Tuning   EADGBE

Listen on:

This cross-picking arrangement is made to accompany the vocal. It mimics the finger-picking as played by John Denver. The Verses, Pre-Chorus, and Chorus all follow the same chord progression. If you get measures 4-7 Down, you can play the whole song with the original recording. At the end of the chorus there's an extra measure of D. When that part of the song comes along, you'd just play measure 7 twice. The song is slow, but there are a lot of string crossings that hop over 2 and even 4 strings. So you may need to slow it down even more to get started on this one. The first 3 measures is the intro that John Denver plays. If you just want to focus on learning what goes behind the vocals, use the looper for measures 4-7.
