This guitar tablature is in the style of the Bill Napier. He played lead guitar for the Stanley Brothers in their early years. This version distills many of the ideas that Bill used. This simplification was done to make the arrangement more playable and digestible. Hopefully, it makes the patterns and devices he used more obviously recognizable both by sight and sound. The goal is that you will be able to take some of these pieces and employ them in your own playing on other tunes.
Try to notice what licks are used with what chords, and what licks can work in multiple situations. If you know your scales, scan the guitar tablature to see if you can recognize runs that come from certain scales or scale patterns. If you know some basic scales and pay close attention, you'll notice there's a lot of G major pentatonic and blues elements being used here.
