Here is a lower octave B Major scale workout for the mandolin. If you can produce clear notes when playing the basic scale - ascending, descending, and in time - then this is your next step. Take it slow. Notice you will be incorporating alternate picking. Follow those fingerings and pick directions in the mandolin tablature.
