Here is the basic B minor scale for mandolin. Follow the suggested fingerings in the mandolin tablature. Aim for long sustained notes. Leave fret hand fingers down as long as possible. A good beginning challenge is to play each note in the scale and let it sustain as long as possible. After you are able to produce clear notes for each note in the scale then try to play in time with the player.
