Now that you are incorporating alternate picking with your C minor pentatonic scale, you will likely need to practice at half the speed that you normally play. If you need to go even slower then do that. Playing clean and with minimal mistakes is more important.


Measure 2,3,5, & 6 are there to give you little breaks. Like any work out, you need to take time for short rest breaks and breath breaks. Relax those muscles momentarily, then get in a few more reps. It's also a good tool to help you build timing awareness for how long a measure lasts. Hearing the root note played multiple times in a row before each scale run is also a good ear association to make.
