Learn "Columbus Stockade Blues" on the mandolin. This is a transcription of Bill Monroe's mandolin playing. It sounds great, but it is not easy. There's a lot of intricate fret hand work, and playing this with all downstrokes, as Bill Monroe did, is another challenge.
Make sure to follow the fingerings in the mandolin tablature. The less than "<" and greater than "<" signs that encapsulate some notes mean you should play those as natural harmonics at the twelfth fret. Lightly touch your finger to the string directly over the 12th fret wire and do not apply pressure. Lift your finger away once the harmonic is sounded.
