Joy to the World...of banjo players...in the key of C. Most banjo players get really comfortable with the key of G. If you want to be a well rounded player start learning songs in the key of C or D.

This one is similar to our Scruggs Style version of Joy to the World that's in the key of G. Learn both to see how chord shape patterns are reused when playing in different keys.

As always, read through the banjo tablature and listen before playing. Doing mental practice before physically playing is great to help you understand the music before you try and play it.

The forward roll is used a lot here. Banjo roll patterns are a foundational element of Scruggs style playing that you should practice regularly. Double stops are also used a lot in this arrangement. A "double stop" is simply a two note chord. These are commonly used when playing bluegrass banjo and help to give you a fuller sound.
