Roanoke is a great Monroe instrumental. This arrangement is mostly melodic, especially in the A part. The B part is Scruggs like, using a backwards roll and a descending 6th pattern. This sort of mimics the double stops and shuffles most fiddle players do in the B part. There are a lot of licks available. Make sure to check them out.
