Swallowtail Jig is a great Celtic tune that's sometimes played in Bluegrass Jam circles. Pay very, very close attention to the pick hand fingerings listed in the banjo tablature. There are alternate fingerings and pick patterns in the licks. Do not try those until you have the basic arrangement and fingerings mastered.

For the most part each measure is picked with this pattern: TITTIT. This helps to get a strong rhythmic feel and really can bring out the dancing feeling of this Celtic Jig. An alternate picking pattern that's listed in the licks is: TITITI. In that one you alternate constantly between thumb and index which can be tricky, but once mastered is great when playing at high speeds.
