Here's a simple version of Cotton Eyed Joe for Clawhammer banjo. It uses a few bum-ditties and "strum-ditties" along with the basic melody. The other tricky part comes in measure 4 of the B part. You'll play bum (ditt)-y. this can be kind of tricky. Use the focus feature to loop and listen repeatedly. Then, practice repeatedly at a very slow speed.
After getting the basic arrangement down, check out those licks. There's a whole lot of cool banjo vocabulary to explore. Remember to play attention to the fret and pick hand fingerings in the banjo tablature.
