This is a simple lead for Blue Night. Simple is good. Trying to alway play fancy and flashy licks and arrangements is a beginner mistake. If you plan on jamming with others aim for simple and solid. Notice the use of the G minor pentatonic scale over the major chord progression. This gives us a really bluesy sound and is a common feature of more contemporary bluegrass players.

The notes that have ">" above them should be accented. That means to play them slightly louder than the others. Notice they come in groups of three. These are the typical "lead-in" notes that are used to kick off solos. They can also be put in the middle of a tune to create strong rhythmic statements. Simple. Solid.

Some of the licks blend minor and major sounds. Check out the Bluegrass lick for measure 2. The 3rd to 4th fret slide on the G string is a perfect example of that.
