This arrangement of Freight Train doesn't use many open strings. It is almost all in a closed position, and has minimal ornaments. This gives you a chance to use the lick switcher. Shuffle the licks to create a new and unique version. Notice how nice the balance is when you have a balance melody and "hot licks". That's how a truly nice lead is crafted-balance. Also, try and come up with your own licks. However, when coming up with your own ideas, don't think you need to play 16th notes all the time! A beautiful melody is all you need sometimes, and that's exactly what you have here.
