Learn the melody for Columbus Stockade Blues for the mandolin. The melody is important to learn. Chord changes are based on the melody, as are the more complex solos.
C minor is a tough key to play in on mandolin. You should regularly practice the C minor and C minor pentatonic as a warmup. Play them slowly. Play for control and accuracy. Mistakes are your cue to slow down so you can actually get it right.
After learning the melody try to also learn the basic chord changes. Work on strumming once per measure to see how melody and harmony connect. With enough listening, practice and observation you will see and hear how melody and lyrical changes coincide with chord changes.
