Blue Ridge Cabin Home - Vamping

Back
  • Vamping
  • Key   G
  • Tempo   80 bpm
  • Tuning   gDGBD

This basic vamping shows you how to easily navigate between your G, C, & D chords(also known as the "1, 4, & 5" in the key of G). You even move up to the G chord that is an "octave" above at the 17th fret. Noticing how many frets you have to move from one shape to another will help you to find your "1, 4, 5" in other keys. Check the licks out for some vamping options that will add a color and lead nicely from one chord to another. There's even a few fancy "fill" licks that are great to add in spaces where the singer finishes their phrases.
