Learn "Over the Waterfall" on the banjo. This one is arranged with some basic elements of the Scruggs Style. In the A section you are playing right out of the basic chord shapes within the first few frets. The forward roll and some melody notes are combined to create a strong and simple sound that is a joy to play. It's very similar to the hand position used when playing Sally Goodin up the neck. This one is based on another version of Over the Waterfall that's played without a capo in the key of D. Check that one out and you will see the common shape that's being used in both arrangements. They're both based out of the 1st inversion chord shape.

The B section goes up the neck a bit. You'll still use that familiar forward roll and add in a few double stops. "Double Stops" are just two note chords. Follow. suggested fingerings in the banjo tablature so you'll know the optimal fret hand fingers and pick hand fingers to use throughout this version of Over the Waterfall.
