The rolling backup here features a great repeating pattern that a lot of pro players use. The cool part about this is we're able to use the exact same pattern over a G and C chord and only needs one note changed to make it work over the D chord! That's efficient, and it sounds great too. It's actually two rolls that come together to make one sound. The pattern starts with a modified forward roll(the second note of the basic roll pattern is left out leaving a long first note). After that we have a slightly modified forward backward roll. If you use the focus feature to really nail down measure 1 you pretty much have the song down! There are some great licks here if you want to add in a bit more flair and authenticity.
