Learning to play rhythm to a tune is the most important aspect of learning to play in a group. Here, the tablature is blank, but the chords are listed above. Learning from tablature is a great tool, but for some things you need to be able to create your own versions if you want to jam. Rhythm is definitely one of those things. It doesn't have to be exact. Once you know the basic rules and patterns, it's easy to do on your own. The way this one is written out you'll have two boom chucks per measure. If you listen to the backing track you will hear it. Listen closely and try to match that.

If you don't know much about rhythm playing, head to our learning path on rhythm guitar and watch the series on Bluegrass Rhythm Guitar and Walking Bass. If those are too advanced for you then you should start at Starting Flatpicking Guitar. There you will learn basic chords and strumming pattern a long with a lot more need to know information and skills.

Check out the licks. There you can find different examples of rhythm patterns that work over each chord - C, G and F.
