This version of You Are My Sunshine continues to bring out the melody first and foremost but you’ll find that it also starts to introduce some fancy and interesting scale lines. For the most part you'll be in first position. There, you'll match the finger to the fret number. In other spots you'll need to switch to second position. 1st finger will get second fret notes, and the ring finger will get 4th fret notes. Make necessary position shifts when open strings are played. Study the guitar tablature and plan out when to make these shifts. You can also read and imagine playing as a form of mental practice and to boost your memory.
