Here's a nice Chromatic lick that's just a little bit up the neck. It starts out with that nice and wide major 6th interval, then we get a little back and forth chromatic action and finish it out with some chord tones.
Since this lick uses no open strings, it is a movable lick, if you know your notes on the B string, and the basic "D" chord shape. The F note is on the 6th fret B string, and this whole thing is dancing around the basic D shape in the same area, can you see it? If you moved this whole lick up 2 frets, do you know what chord we would be playing over then?
