This is a great cross picking lick over a G chord. It's pretty simple and straightforward. It starts with a 'forward roll' motion right out of the chord shape. This mimics the basic picking pattern of a bluegrass banjo. Then it just adds a dash of pentatonic and a bit of a 'forward-backward' roll motion, again right out of the chord shape.
