Here's a slick IV to I lick. It comes from measure 5 of 'Long Journey Home - Billy Strings Style'. That song is in the key of G. In the key of G the I chord is G and the IV chord is C. They are numbered based on the root note's position in the G major scale.
This one is a bit tricky, but super cool. It starts with some cross picking. That part is done over the chord and adds in some note extensions which turns it into a C7. Whenever you play a C7 in the key of G you are gonna get a really bluesy sound. The lick returns to G by sliding through some of the blues scale.
