Foggy Mountain Breakdown - Ending Lick

Back
  • Ending Lick
  • Key   G
  • Tempo   80 bpm
  • Tuning   gDGBD

This ending lick is iconic. Measure one of the banjo tab is what Earl is playing over the D chord. Nothing too crazy going on here. Make sure to slide up the neck after playing that second fret note on the G string. That's gonna get us into position to play the syncopated walk, way up the neck, on the first string. You may need to use the FOCUS feature to listen repeatedly to this measure. That will help you "digest" the complex timing. You should always make listening a part of your practice to develop your ears.
