You can make position shifts easier and add a bit style by sliding in and out of chords and notes when needed.
As usual, there are suggested fingerings in the banjo tablature. In the lick switcher you'll find a few more variations using this "D" chord shape. It's also known as a 1st inversion shape. What you will notice is that a lick that works over a D chord will work in almost any measure or instance that a D chord is happening!
