Unlock your understanding of the banjo's fretboard by learning a tune both down and up the neck! For this basic single string banjo arrangement of Angelina Baker you'll be in seventh position. That means the first finger will hang out around the 7th fret. After getting the arrangement down, check out the licks. Some options will show you how to play a single string phrase from the main arrangement in the melodic style. This will further your understanding of the banjo fretboard. Other licks use the melodic style and descending pentatonic scale patterns. Scale patterns work great for licks, help you better understand scales and are a good exercise to practice!
You can use a partial or full bar in both sections to help you play this a bit more efficiently. Fingering suggestions are listed throughout in the banjo tablature. If the bar is particularly troublesome, practice it! In the meantime look through the licks and use some that don't require a bar.
