Composed by bluegrass fiddlers Vasser (1928-2005) and copyright 1972 by Millie Clements. It seems that Charlie Daniels "Devil Went Down to Georgia (The)" is largely based on the melody of Clements. Vassar Clements wrote the song Lonesome Fiddle Blues and was first published in 1972 by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Group. It was done by and in the form of The String Cheese Incident, Mark O'Connor, Modern Grass Revival and Young.
