Recomended level: Beginner

An Interval is a musical term that describes the distance between notes. Since there are twelve notes used in music, there are also 12 basic intervals. In this group of banjo tablatures you'll explore each of those intervals in the context of the G major scale, using only those notes: G A B C D E F#. The most common intervals can be found within one "octave" of a scale, but there's also something called "compound" intervals which are distances larger than an octave.

Make sure to read the description for each interval we have here. You'll learn more about the characteristics of each one. Play each interval at the same time to hear it as a harmony. Play the 2 notes separately, one at a time, to hear how it would sound melodically.
