The G major scale is closely related to the pentatonic scale in that the majority of the notes are identical. You're simply adding 2 notes to the pentatonic scale to create the major scale. The G major scale is a 7 or 8 note scale, depending on how you look at it. There are 7 different notes in the scale with the 8th note being the same as the 1st. The notes in this scale are G A B C D E F# G. This isn't incredibly important information right now and it'll be more fun to apply this scale to your fretboard so you can continue working on your technique.
