Chromatic Lick

Chromatic means we will play notes moving a half step at a time. There are only 12 notes in music. The Chromatic scale uses all of them. Any given Major scale only uses 7. It's something that can sound very cool when used sparingly, especially when the listener's ear has gotten use to only hearing scale notes for a half of the song.

Try not to lift fingers when playing the chromatic passage. Leave them down. Watch the video for an example.
