Haunted House Lick

A Spooky Sounding Melodic Lick

Modal is a term used when a song or scale has some undefined quality. In some modal songs, you can change from a major to a minor sound in the same solo. It's all about what notes are, or are not being defined by the chords. This melodic lick definitely has that sound. It uses the notes around the open D string to create a very spooky sound-The b5 and b6 of the key. It works great in this song. The b5 is often used in the blues. Add in the b6 and it gives a whole other flavor.
