Two I to IV licks

This is Music?

This isn't a transition lick. It's a lick that can work over a D chord, a G chord, and even a C if you wanted it to. It's an interesting concept that Scruggs and other bluegrass players sometimes use. Just hammering down on the same note while chords change can sound verry impressive. The note will "color" each chord a little differently. Since this lick centers around a D note and that note is part of the triad for D (D F# A) & G(G B D) it works flawlessly.
