5.3 Advanced Switching - Using the Bum-Ditty Pattern

As is the final step for all strumming, we are going to add our bum-ditty pattern while we switch chords.

There are three elements to this lesson: Switching chords, playing the bum-ditty pattern, and alternating bass. First, review your chord changes. You're moving from Am to Em and back to Am. Now add in the bum-ditty with only one bass note. Practice that a bit and then try the alternating bass. Do each of these in time with a metronome or with the backing tracks provided in the tab below.

Advanced Switching - Using the Bum-Ditty Pattern

If you need to isolate a chord for practice, click anywhere on the measure you'd like to play. That measure will loop so you can get your reps in on the chord you need work on.
